Country Representative:

I am the country representative of A Glimmer of Hope. I worked with the founders of A Glimmer of Hope beginning in early 2001 to establish the Non-Government Organization in Addis, and have been the country representative since its founding in late 2001.  My job is to ensure that the goals and objectives of A Glimmer of Hope are fully met in contributing to alleviation of poverty in Ethiopia.

I come from a small town called Dembi Dollo in the South Western part of Ethiopia. I have a Masters Degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield. I have worked in various Ethiopian public institutions. My most recent employment prior to joining the foundation was with the Ethiopian Embassy in Washington, DC where I worked for two years as a liaison officer for US NGOs that have operations in Ethiopia. I have four children ranging in age from 4-12 and I enjoy watching them grow very much.

I love working for Glimmer because I can live my dreams through the work we do. We serve those who are in need, we contribute to the future of many younger generations, and we improve the lives of many, many people.  There is nothing more fulfilling to me than to serve others.
