About Us - Our Model

Project Manager (Austin):
Originally from East Texas, I have been with A Glimmer of Hope Austin since June 2003. I am responsible for helping with project selection and project mentoring and for running our annual summer camp – Camp Glimmer.
Much of my early life was focused on athletics and I was a member of the national championship winning track and field team at Blinn College (NJCAA) in 1995. I went on to be a four-time All-American in track at Angelo State University and was even named the team’s MVP during my junior year. As a sprinter, I competed in the 200m, the 400m and the 4x400m relay; and, one of my records still holds to this day. In 1999, I moved to Austin to complete my collegiate studies and to train for the 2000 and 2004 Olympics. While unsuccessful in my attempts to break the qualifying times due to injury, I did receive a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from Huston-Tillotson University in 2003 making me the first in my family to graduate from college.
I honestly feel like being at Glimmer is a calling from God. Even though we are a non-religious organization, the work we do allows me to live my faith every day and to help change lives around the world.
