About Us - Our Model
Information Technology Manager:
I am responsible for the organization’s computer systems, overseeing installation, ensuring back-up systems operate effectively, purchasing hardware and software, providing the ICT technology infrastructures and contributing to organizational policy regarding quality standards and strategic planning. I also work with our Communications Director on maintaining our website and shoot much of the video seen on the website, on YouTube, in promotional videos, etc. I recently completed my sixth trip to Ethiopia to document A Glimmer of Hope’s efforts there as well as the need that still exists there.
I am married to my lovely wife Roxanne who like me is a lifelong Austinite. We have one child – Lil’ JD – and another – Madalynn – on the way. I joined A Glimmer of Hope in March 2003 after spending three years working for an Austin-based telecommunications company as a web/multimedia developer. Prior to that, and after graduation from Huston-Tillotson University, I worked on freelance projects helping small businesses and nonprofits with the marketing of their business through the Internet. I love outdoor activities, especially those I am able to share with my family.
I do what I do because I love it. And, I love the fact that what I do benefits people who are able to benefit from it.
