Leslie Llado

ICD Program Manager

As Glimmer's Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programs coordinator, I collaborate with Glimmer's Ethiopia team and our partner organizations to successfully implement water projects across Ethiopia, resolve problems on the ground, and keep the rest of our team up to date on project statuses. I am thrilled to use my background in science and sustainability to further the amazing work of A Glimmer of Hope.

My academic experience includes a Bachelor of Science in Hydrogeology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science in Environmental Science from Texas Christian University. Before joining Glimmer, my work as a hydrologist at the local and state levels focused on bridging the gap between water conservation science, public policy and stakeholder interests. My passion for water science and travel led me to Latin America, where I worked with nonprofits, community members and local governments to solve water supply and quality problems in rural communities. I was instantly hooked by the opportunity to use my scientific background to foster real change in rural communities.

I feel incredibly lucky to work in the field of international development for A Glimmer of Hope while living in a fantastic city like Austin. Outside of the office, you will find me enjoying live music, running on the trails or taking advantage of the Austin restaurant scene.

They are not monuments, but footprints. A monument only says, ‘At least I got this far,’ while a footprint says, ‘This is where I was when I moved again.'Faulkner
